Stockholm’s home to 2 gaming bars (to our knowledge) and the first to pop up in the city was the glorious N3rds Bar on Bondegatan. Here you can play such a wide variety of games that you’re almost certainly going to go home with square eyes, and it will all have been worth it.
Some people say that after a day of working on your laptop you should give yourself a break from screens, but those people have clearly never organised an evening of addictive gaming combined with tasty food and inventive cocktails, all named after the most iconic video games.
There’s the ‘Crash Bandicoot’, containing cassis cream, tequila, triple sec, and grenadine mixed with orange, cranberry, and lime juice. It sounds just as zesty and almost as thrilling as the game itself! Then there’s the ‘Red Dead’ (one of my favourite franchises ever), made from bourbon, raspberry puree, syrup, lime, and bitters. If that doesn’t make you feel like you’re sitting around a campfire having just robbed a train then we don’t know what will.
But that’s not all! Here they have a delicious array of craft beers with distinctive flavours like the incredible Neck Oil IPA and a much bigger menu of non-alcoholic drinks than we have seen at any gaming spot we’ve visited yet.
Plus, there’s plenty of food here for hungry gamers to munch on. Whether you’re looking for a ‘Borderlands Burger’ (don’t worry, it’s not made from canned skag meat) or a tasty ‘Vegan Warrior Wrap’, there’s something for virtually everyone here.
You can play tons of Nintendo 64 games like Castlevania and Mortal Kombat and plenty of Xbox One games like Souls Caliber VI. Their collection of PS4 games is also exciting, including games like Bloodborne, FIFA 20, and Street Fighter 5. Then there’s a wealth of boardgames to choose from if you really would like some time away from the screen.
N3rds Bar is only open from Wednesday to Saturday, 6 pm – 1 am on Wednesdays and Thursdays and then 5 pm until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. You can find it at Bondegatan 1, 116 23 and you can book a table via the website.
