We’re all IKEA addicts in Stockholm.
A few months ago we wrote about IKEA’s first-ever second-hand superstore in Eskilstuna and expressed our enthusiasm for having one here, in Stockholm. Well, it hasn’t happened (God loves a trier). However, we do have some good news to report, because Stockholm’s about to get another, massive IKEA and we couldn’t be more excited!
Whilst we’re still totally envious of Eskilstuna, this new IKEA in Gallerian department store sounds fantastic. It’s going to take up a whole 4 floors of this perfect Hamngatan location, and with Sergels Torg just around the corner, it will be so central and convenient. Spanning an impressive 8,000 square metres, three of the floors will be open to the public and the third will be used as a warehouse.
It’s not clear when the store will open yet, and we think it might be a while yet. However, Stockholm is certainly in need of some TLC after this pandemic-dominated couple of years, and we’re hoping that this year will give rise to loads of investment in the city, and tons of development. We already know that the Financial Council are hoping to make this year’s Nobel Week Lights popular with tourists, and we can’t wait to see the city buzzing with life once again.
