Magdalena Andersson has been involved in Swedish politics since the 1990s.
The Swedish Parliament has just approved Magdalena Andersson of the Social Democrats to become the next Swedish Prime Minister. She will therefore move from her old role of Finance Minister and will present the budget next week.
She won the election with 117 MPs voting for her, 57 abstaining, and 175 voting for her. Under Swedish law, Prime Ministers only need a majority of MPs not to vote against them in order to win.
