And it’s more than just a name change.
Stockholm’s Globe is one of the largest venues in Scandinavia and it has changed its name to Avicii Arena to honour the late Tim Bergling, who was born in Stockholm and known to the world as Avicii.
The change has been instigated with the collaboration of Tim Bergling’s Memorial Fund, and they aim to continue their work to improve the mental health of young people across the world. One of the ways they will address the issue of mental health is through running activities to boost the mental health of young people here.
High school students will be given more knowledge on the subject of mental health and how to care for their mental health using a ‘digital education initiative’. Teen Pace is another initiative that sounds incredibly innovative. It will allow parents to test their relationship with their teenagers and help them to identify where improvements could be made in order to understand one another better.
The new name will remind Stockholmers every time they see it that looking after young people’s mental health is crucial to having a happy, healthy society, and we absolutely applaud that.
